12D11N Self Drive (West Coast)
The self-drive program covers part of major attractions in Malaysia with a wonderful journey from the historical places to the modern city and beautiful Island.
Day 1 Kuala Lumpur – Malacca (No Meals)
Upon arrival in Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), meet and transfer to Malacca (approximate 2 hours drive). Upon arrival, check in to the hotel. Free in the evening to walk about the narrow roads lined with interesting shops & local restaurants – plenty to see & do.
Recommended sight seeing places:-
The Malacca experience takes you to the major historical attractions: – Paul’s Hill, the renowned Porta De Santiago, Cheng Hoon Teng Temple and Jonkers Street where you can hunt antique souvenirs. Visit the Baba Nyonya Museum for an interesting insight of the lifestyle & tradition of the unique peranakans.
Day 2 Malacca – Kuala Lumpur
After lunch (own account), rejoin the highway passing Seremban to Kuala Lumpur – the capital city of Malaysia. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel.
Recommended sight seeing places:-
Major historical landmarks – King`s Palace, National Monument, National Mosque and Merdeka (Independence) Square. Much of the history of the city is depicted here as well as the tradition and cultural heritage of the major comunities. Stop at the Petronas Twin Tower plus an opportunity to enjoy the panoramic view of the city from the observation deck of the KL Tower.
Visit Batu Caves – a daunting cave where you will climb 272 steps to reach the entrance of the main cave. This is where the Hindus have erected a sacred shrine devoted to Lord Muruga. Thaipusam Festival turns this cave into a frenzy and dramatic affair with colourful chariots hooked on to the body of the devotees paying their respect.

Day 3 Kuala Lumpur
Free at leisure.
Recommended sight seeing places:-
Travel to Chinatown and join in the excitement of bargaining for an assortment of items at the open-air “Pasar Malam” (night market), you chance to start practicing your bargaining. Also visit the nearby Central market- the local art & handicraft art scene.

Day 4 Kuala Lumpur – Taman Negara
9.00 AM – Pick up your vehicle/rental car & commence your self-drive experience.
Drive from Kuala Lumpur to Jerantut followed by the last 70 km drive to Kuala Tahan, through plantation and secondary forest. Once arrive into Kuala Tahan, please park your car on top of the river bank (maybe nearby the local school) & please don’t park your car by the river in case the water level might goes up if it is rain. From here, take the river crossing boat from any of the floating restaurants across the Tembeling river to Mutiara Taman Negara Resort. It cost RM1.00 (own expenses) & it just about few minutes to cross the river by boat.
Arrive at your resort to check in and rest of the afternoon. Overnight at air-conditioned chalet at the Mutiara Taman Negara Resort. View video presentation and Night Jungle Walk in the evening.

Day 5 Taman Negara
Full day excursion to Bukit Teresek, Canopywalk and Lata Berkoh. Bukit Teresek (334 metres) can be reach in 45 mins and one can enjoy a panoramic view of Gunung Tahan and the forest canopy. The canopy walkway stretches about 500 metres and with a height of 30 metres, visitors have a rare opportunity to experience the wilderness from a vantage point. Lata Berkoh is a spectacular cascade that marks the limit of easy navigability on the river. There is a deep pool below the cascade and rocky area overlooking the rapids offers an ideal place to relax.

Day 6 Taman Negara – Cameron Highlands
Self-drive Kuala Tahan to Cameron Highlands
Pick up your car at Kuala Tahan and self-drvie to Cameron Highlands from Kuala Tahan via the Gua Musang Highway or the newly opened Kuala Lipis to Bertam Valley road. Continue to drive up the road passing through Brinchang and finally the main town – Tanah Rata. Settle in your hotel and enjoy the peace & serenity of Cameron Highlands.

Day 7 Cameron Highland – Penang (7 hours)
Self-drive Cameron Highlands to Penang
Recommended sight seeing places:-
Depart Cameron Highlands via the Simpang Pulai Highway – a scenic route towards Ipoh. Before reaching Penang, you can stop at the famous at Bukit Merah Orang Utan Islands – where orang utans are allowed to roam freely is located in the middle of the Bukit Merah Lake. Visitors are ferried from the main jetty to the island where they are able to observe this unique creature living in its natural environment. The Orang Utan Infant Care Unit (ICU) which was set up by Bukit Merah Laketown Resort is the first such centre in the world. This make significant step towards the research and education of this endangered species. The Orang Utan Island is a rehabilitation and conservation site for the Orang Utan – contribution towards the Orang Utan Species will further encourage corporate participation towards the conservation of the Malaysian wildlife.
Cross the Penang Bridge (spanning 13.5 km – the longest bridge in Asia and the third in the World) into the island of Penang. Check into your hotel.

Day 8 Penang
Day free at leisure to explore the city by self-drive.
Drop off the vehicle/rental car at your hotel at 5.00 PM.
Recommended sight seeing places:-
Visit Kek Lok Si – the largest Buddhist cum Taoist monastery and temple complex in Malaysia with its imposing 10,000 Buddha’s Pagoda and the tortoise Pond of Longevity. Ascend 830 meters up Penang Hill by the Swiss funicular railway passing through hill farms and lush tropical jungles for a panoramic view of the island and mainland.

Day 9 Penang – Langkawi
7.00 AM – Transfer to Georgetown Ferry Terminal for to Langkawi ETD 8.30 AM. On arrival Kuah Jetty (ETA 11.00 AM), you will be met and transfer to your resort.
