Tour Summary
Travelling northbound from Singapore to Penang by overland, a popular trail on Peninsular Malaysia and enjoy an enchanting stay at Langkawi at the end.

Day 1     Singapore - Malacca (3.5 hrs)
View from Malcca River - ChurchPick up at City Hotels at 0730 hrs.Cross the Johor Causeway, which links Singapore to Peninsula Malaysia. After brief formalities, you will enter Johor Bahru - the southern most state of Malaysia. The Malacca Experience begins. Visit St. Paul’s Hill, Porta De Santiago, Cheng Hoon Teng Temple and Jonkers Street - popular for it's antiques and local art & craft. The Baba Nyonya Museum offers an interesting insight of the lifestyle & tradition of the unique peranakans.  

 

Day 2     Malacca-Kuala Lumpur (2 hrs)
After breakfast, you rejoin the highway passing Seremban to Kuala Lumpur - the capital city of Malaysia. In the afternoon, our guide will give you an orientation tour of Kuala Lumpur where you will be introduced to the humble beginning of the city to what it is today - a modern cosmopolitan city. Major highlights of the tour : National Monument, Sultan Abdul Samad Building - Independence Square, the Selangor Club & the King’s Palace.  Enjoy a breath taking view of the city from the KL Tower. In the evening, you may want to join an optional tour for a taste of traditional Malay cuisine with a cultural show plus a visit to Chinatown(Breakfast) 

Day 3     In Kuala Lumpur
Visit the Petronas Twin Tower for a photostop. The twin tower has a skybridge, which is open to the public - subject to availability as the entry is limited to a Sultan Sulaimancertain number of people each day.We set off to Batu Caves - a daunting cave where you will climb 272 steps to reach the entrance of the main cave. This is where the Hindus have erected a sacred shrine devoted to Lord Muruga. Thaipusam Festival turns this cave into a frenzy and dramatic affair with colourful chariots hooked on to the body of the devotees paying their respect. Royal Selangor is the largest producer of pewter in the world and you have an opportunity to see the craftsman at work. This afternoon, you are free to explore the city. Shopping is great and it is easy to move around with taxis and the monorail. (Breakfast) 

Day 4     Kuala Lumpur  - Cameron Highlands (4 hrs)
Travel to Cameron Highlands via the highway with a rest stop at Tapah. This is the town leading to Cameron Highlands and you will get to see the local fruits including the King of Fruits – Durian if in season.On the way up to the mountain resort, we will stop at a small Aborigine village and a teahouse. Continue to drive up the road passing through Brinchang and finally the main town – Tanah Rata. Settle in your hotel of your choice and enjoy the peace & serenity of Cameron Highlands. (Breakfast) 


Day 5     Cameron Highlands - Penang (7 hrs)
Visit one of the tea plantations owned by the Boh Plantations to watch the processing of black tea and later to sample various kind of tea in the teahouse. (Note : Tea factory is closed on Mondays).  Also visit the Rose Garden & Butterfly Farm. After the tea break, we head to local fruit / vegetable market to see the variety of produce from this area.  Depart Cameron Highlands via the Simpang Pulai Highway to Bukit Merah Laketown.  Visit the Orang Utan Island & see the primates and the in-house infant care unit. Continue to Penang & cross the Penang Bridge into the island of Penang. Check into your hotel. (Breakfast) 

 

Day 6     In Penang
Khoo Konng SiToday you explore Penang - the Pearl of the Orient and the oldest British settlement in Malaysia. Visits include the Khoo Kongsi (Dragon Mountain Hall) clan house with its ancient design constructed to capture the splendour of an Imperial palace, the historical Fort Cornwallis and the Thai temple of  Wat Chayamangkalaram, which houses a 32 metres reclining Buddha.  Located about 30 minutes drive from the city is the military fortress built in the 1930's by the British to protect the Island from enemies. Situated on 20 acres of land, it is an integrated fortress constructed on what is now called Bukit Batu Maung. The British Royal Engineers and a work force comprises of local laborers blasted and dug intothe hill to create a fort with underground military tunnels, intelligence and logistic center, halls, ventilation shafts, canon firing, sleeping quarters, as well as medical infirmary. This is memorable visit to one of the significant battle scenes in Malaya during the World War II.(Breakfast) 


Day 7     Penang - Langkawi

Transfer to Penang International airport for flight to Langkawi .On arrival, meet & transfer to your resort. Rest of day at leisure. 

 

 

Day 8     In Langkawi
Langkawi BeachThe outstanding landscape of the Langkawi Islands proclaims a true tropical paradise. White sands, clear tropical waters and lovely island sunsets. Located off the northern most tip of Peninsular Malaysia, Langkawi is a group of 104 islands where only three are inhabited. 
This morning enjoy a half day orientation tour of Langkawi, getting to know the island's legends and myths.  Highlights of your tour include:- Atma Alam Batik & Art Village - an handicraft centre showcasing batik prints, Gallery Perdana - This gallery houses an impressive collection of 2,500 state gifts and awards presented to the former Prime Minister of Malaysia - Tun Dr Mahathir Mohammad and his wife, Toh Puan Dr Siti Hasmah.Eagle Square - located in Kuah Town with a magnificent statue of a reddish brown eagle where the word `Langkawi' is derived from a

 

ccording to local folklore.  Underwater World - a marine showcase featuring both fresh & seawater fish and marine life. (Breakfast) 
 

Day 9     Depart Langkawi
Time to bid farewell to this wonderful tropical paradise – transfer to airport for your onward flight.
